PaloSanto Tapas Bar
Experience a cute little restaurant in the heart of Barcelona.
A Nice Find on our First Night
On our first night in Barcelona, we had only bee off the plane from Calgary for a few hours. We had checked into the hotel and had time to walk around a little. We grabbed a late lunch at an Italian place we had scoped out called Listo. It was mostly appys (tapas) and a drink, not a full meal.
After we went back to the hotel, we looked for a place to get dinner, and that’s when I found PaloSanto. I think I was drawn to the nice images, and of course, the star rating above 4.5 on Google helped. It was also really close to the Andante hotel that we were staying at. We would later find out that we were right next door to the gothic quarter and other dining options nearby but on the first night, we felt like decision fatigue had already settled in, and we just needed to eat.

The Food We Ordered & What We Thought
This is a cute little place, and we loved the laid-back atmosphere. They even had a cute dog to welcome us as we came in. The service was good and we were seated. It wasn’t busy when we got there, and we decided to sit inside; the outside seating was actually across the street, which made it feel a little disconnected.
We both ordered drinks, I had a beer, and Jenn had a margarita served in a martini glass. Here is a look at the menu and more of the food.

First night in Barcelona we got burgers, I get it, but we were tired and just wanted something easy. And to our surprise, the burgers were really good, and we would definitely go back. We didn’t try anything else from the menu like we normally do, but I assume its pretty good based on the burger that we got.
Weird Area, but we would find that Spain is like that
The first impression we had is that this little restaurant was in a kind of weird area at first glance and next to some shady-looking businesses. But as we quickly learned, that’s just Spain. There’s always a mix of different things happening on the same street. You’re gonna walk down this street and feel out of place a little, but we really liked Palosanto and would recommend it if you are in the area.
