Known for: Chef-driven share plates, warm design, and wood-fired dishes. Order the garlic bread (ask for one more as they come with 3) you won’t regret it. They are also known for their grilled farm chicken, served with chicken sausage, dill gravy and fries. We order it every time we go. Oh and the banana pie is super yummy too!
Vibe: Trendy, social, warm, design-forward
Bridgette Bar is a very easy restaurant to love. This is one of our favourite restaurants we frequent often.
It has that perfect Calgary mix of good food, good energy, and a room that feels stylish without trying too hard, think brick walls and warm lighting. The restaurant is located in the Design District, making it a great dinner choice if you are staying downtown or in the Beltline.
The menu is built for sharing, which makes it especially good for groups. Order a few things for the table, settle in, and let the meal become part of the night rather than just a stop before the next thing.
Bridgette Bar is a great pick for a friends’ dinner, date night, or a first visit to Calgary when you want somewhere that feels cool but reliable. It is polished, but not precious. Stylish, but not cold. Exactly the kind of place you want on a travel list.
Lulu Bar

Lulu Bar feels like a little dose of vacation in the middle of Calgary.

It is located on 17th Avenue, one of Calgary’s best areas for restaurants, patios, shops, and people-watching. If you are visiting Calgary and want a neighbourhood that feels lively without being overwhelming, this is a great place to start.
Lulu Bar is especially good for a casual dinner, a girls’ trip meal, or a sunny afternoon that turns into an evening out. It is colourful, upbeat, and easy to enjoy.

For travellers, Caesar’s is a good pick if you want the classic Alberta beef experience. It is not trying to be the newest restaurant in the city. That is kind of the point.
